Had some work in Wilson, and the super told us about this place. Awesome bbq and good sides. We stopped about 7 pm on a Friday not and the place was slammed. Must have been 15-20 for the drive-through and main parking lot full. However there is additional parking in the lot next door. We ordered bbq and a few made to order fried porkchops to go. We were in and out in less than 10 minutes. This place moves as fast, if not faster than a chik fil a. It's definitely a must try. If you want to try the cobbler, you need to get there early. It sells out daily, I was told.

I went in and ate alone since the drive thru was long as expected. It was surprisingly comfortable, fast and friendly service, and the food was good overall. I didn't like the collards, but will eat them since they're on the healthier side. I plan to add sugar to my Brunswick Stew, but I understand why they make it that way. The mac and cheese was acceptable considering they provide fast and affordable service. The bbq is the best minced bbq I've had that I can recall. I had 4 stars (due to flies although I'm sure they're hard to control with the in and out traffic) but changing to 5 because my experience was great overall. "Bill Ellis" r.i.p. employees used to cater to my workplace in Emporia, VA at the beginning of new teacher week my first few years teaching at Greensville Elementary. We really miss getting that meal. I've visited the restaurant after those meals and really missed it when it closed.I was excited to hear when this restaurant opened, and to appreciate the legacy. I'm glad I finally got to try it.

I've been going by here for years but have never been able to stop. Every time I've gone by the drive thru line is around the building, out the parking lot and on the side street, just like today. It doesn't matter what time of day, weekends or week days it's always the same. I finally didn't have to get back so I decided to see what the hype was all about. I got the small combo platter (BBQ and a leg with slaw, mac and cheese and fries. Wanted to try the cabbage but got out voted. The BBQ was very good. I didn't even put any sauce on it. The leg was great! The crust was flavorful, the chicken was juicy but not greasy and so tender. The mac and cheese was tasty as were the fries, hush puppies and the slaw. The people were so friendly and did a great job even though the place was packed. No empty seats but the 1 we were lucky enough to snag. You could tell they were used to it. We decided to go in rather than through the drive through because I didn't want to eat on the road while driving home but the drive thru seemed just as efficient. This was 2:30 on a Sunday and you would think it wouldn't be crowded but just like every other time I've been by they were slammed. They have meat and desert specials during the week listed on the TVs. I will be back to try those. The amount of food I got for 8.40 was crazy, considering other places I've been lately. If you're like me and don't stop because you don't want to wait in line you're missing some good food and people.

It’s the best food! Wanda Ellis is awesome! Hot food, freshly cooked, large portions, great prices, great service!

I love home made chicken pastry. My mom is not able to make pastry anymore, so I really miss it. I go to Marty's and their pastry satisfies me. Their banana pudding is great too. I just wish it was close to my home.

I’ve been told by many friends to come here. Today was my first time and the line was around the building for a reason. If you want good food, don’t come here, if you want great food at a great price that makes an impression, Marty’s is where you want to go. The chicken was crispy and juicy, green beans and Mac n cheese were good too. I wasn’t impressed with the coleslaw but I have a feeling it’s usually better. The banana pudding was great! I will definitely be coming back when I’m passing through Wilson again.

First time eating at Marty's... Super crowded on a Fri night around 7pm, but we were lucky enough to get a table before our food was ready. Very tasty BBQ and chicken tenders and delicious sweet tea. Service was excellent, too!

Marty’s doesn’t disappoint. Pork BBQ and fried chicken are flawless. Cole slaw, hush puppies, Brunswick stew, banana pudding.... All of the standards are well executed. And quantities for the price are unmatched.
